2023 Health, Safety, Environment & Community Awards Finalists
30 June 2023
The finalists for the NSW Minerals Council’s Health, Safety, Environment and Community Awards were announced today, showcasing some of the NSW mining industry’s best innovations and contributions across a range of categories.
The annual HSEC Awards are a highlight of the annual NSW Minerals Council Health, Safety, Environment and Community Conference (HSEC) to be held in the Hunter later this year.
The Conference is one of the NSW mining industry's most important annual events, bringing together around 500 mining industry participants, technical experts, and a range of government and community representatives from across NSW.
The theme for this year’s Conference is “Learning and Leading”, with a focus on leadership, development and networking. The Conference will feature examples of leading practice, lessons learned and emerging regulatory and industry issues for professionals in health and safety, environmental management and community engagement.
“We are looking forward to once again welcoming hundreds of mining members and other guests from across NSW to our flagship event later this year,” NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee said today.
“This Conference is an opportunity to discuss our challenges, identify opportunities, celebrate excellence, and focus on how we can continue to improve in the future. Our HSEC Awards are an important part of the Conference as they shine a light on our industry’s efforts to deliver better outcomes for our workforce, our communities, and the local environment,” he said.
“As always, our 2023 award entrants are of a very high standard demonstrating our industry’s commitment to improving the way we operate and make sure we continue to mine responsibly now and for the future,” Mr Galilee said.
