The NSW Minerals Council congratulates Renata Roberts, Chief Corporate Services Officer, The Bloomfield Group, who won the Dyno Nobel Exceptional Woman in Australian Resources Award at the Women in Resources National Awards today - the first time the Award has ever been won by a NSW nominee.
Considered by some to be the top honour at the WIRNA, Renata won the Exceptional Woman in Australian Resources Award for her inspiring leadership and capability across a number of areas throughout her career, and for her extensive involvement in community outreach.
Earlier this year, Renata was named NSW’s Exceptional Woman in Mining and today she has been awarded the national title announced at the live-streamed awards ceremony. The Women in Resources National Awards recognise the outstanding contribution women are making to our world-class mining industry in NSW and across the country.
NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee congratulated Renata and all the outstanding finalists from NSW, along with mining workers across the State who have risen to the challenge of operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Today was a truly fantastic win by Renata and along with the other finalists from NSW, showcases some of the highly skilled women who have helped keep our industry operating during these very tough times.”
“During the COVID-19 pandemic our miners have kept operating under strict health and safety protocols that have helped protect jobs, support local communities and maintain our contribution to the NSW economy,” Mr Galilee said today.
“Today’s top honour for Renata highlights the effort being made to promote greater opportunity and diversity in mining, and to increase the career paths available to women in the NSW mining sector,” Mr Galilee said.
