Can you help Shape the Future of The Upper Hunter?

We’re calling for applications to be considered for 3 community representative positions, as part of the Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue Joint Advisory Steering Committee.
 
The Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue (UHMD) is a collaborative effort between the mining industry and the community to better understand community concerns and work together in developing and implementing solutions. The Dialogue has been running for the past five years, and plays a significant role in decisions undertaken by mining companies in the region.
 
Three community members are sought from the regions of Singleton, Muswellbrook and surrounds for immediate appointment. Those selected will work alongside industry and government representatives to achieve positive community outcomes for all. 
 
The objectives of the Joint Advisory Steering Committee (JASC) include:
  • Shape through strategic advice the direction of the Dialogue, its purpose, outcomes and service to the community.
  • Provide oversight of the activities of the Dialogue and insights on how to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Ensure the Dialogue remains effective and valued by all stakeholders.
  • Continually improve The Dialogue and its contribution to the community and industry.
  • Promote awareness about the work of the Dialogue and strengthen confidence within the community that areas of importance are being well managed and taken seriously. 
 
To be eligible, applicants must contribute to the work of the UHMD, have a general awareness of contemporary issues and a willingness to provide a balanced view with a collaborative attitude.

  • A demonstrated interest in the Dialogue and its continual improvement
  • A willingness to promote the Dialogue and increase awareness of its work
  • A general awareness of contemporary issues and a willingness to provide a balanced view and progressive and collaborative attitude and approach to developing solutions
  • The ability to contribute to the strategic framework of the Dialogue
