Mining Suppliers Awards Finalists highlight positive impact of mining across NSW

September 30, 2013

Businesses from around NSW are being recognised for their innovation and excellence in supporting the NSW mining sector, and selected as finalists in the 2013 NSW Mining Suppliers Awards.

“NSW Mining doesn’t just provide jobs and income for mine employees. Our sector spends billions of dollars every year in communities across NSW, from the Western Plains to Western Sydney, on companies that supply and support mining,” NSW Minerals Council CEO, Stephen Galilee said today.

“There are thousands of companies that are absolutely critical to mining in NSW; they help our industry contribute to the economic strength and stability of our state.  From legal and accounting services, to equipment and machinery manufacturers, labour hire, engineering, construction,” he said.

“Even local accommodation and food and beverage providers are important suppliers to our industry. We are proud to celebrate their work as part of the NSW Mining Industry and Suppliers Conference,” Mr Galilee said.

After a successful inaugural year, the second annual Suppliers Awards has attracted an impressive array of businesses, large and small, that service the state’s mining industry and help keep NSW mining strong.
