Tim Witney - BHP
An active member of BHP’s inclusion and diversity council, Tim mentors a number of young women across BHP’s Mt Arthur site.
One of Tim’s main focuses is working with return-to-work mothers, developing strategies to actively engage them in the mine’s workforce while maintaining enough balance for family life.
One way has been to work closely with female workers to tailor flexible work programs that has already enabled a number of women to return to work.
Since starting at Mt Arthur in 2017, Tim has helped increase the indigenous workforce to 13 percent, increase the female workforce to 28 percent and has achieved a 100 percent retention rate of female employees.
Tim’s vision for the future is increasing the number of women in senior positions at the mine.
