Raelene is the Group General Manager of Technical Services at Glencore Coal Assets Australia and she is the winner of the 2016 Exceptional Woman in NSW Mining Award.
For Raelene, winning this Award meant “having access to industry and political leaders, something that would be much more difficult without such a platform. For example, the facts about resources that they use in everyday life, I suggested to the NSW Minerals Council and the Minister if we can include this as part of the school curriculum so it enhances people’s understanding of the minerals industry at such a young age.. This idea is now coming to fruition.”
Also there were a number of media coverage opportunities since winning this Award, including but not limited to being featured in the Singleton Argus and Daily Telegraph, on local radio and being asked to present at various industry forums.
“I would definitely recommend women to get involved in these awards. This award has given me a platform and an opportunity to network with some truly inspirational women across NSW and other states. They are inspirational by any industry standards and we are in very good hands if we can continue to grow this positive trend and develop more exceptional female leaders of the future.”
