2019 HSEC Winners Announced

The winners for our 2019 Health, Safety, Environmental and Community Awards, sponsored by Whitehaven Coal have have been announced at the 2019 HSEC Awards Dinner at the Crowne Plaza in the Hunter Valley.
We received over 40 nominations across four categories, with our judging panel commenting on the high calibre of award finalists.

Awards overview and entry conditions
NSW has some of the world’s leading mining operations and some of the best practitioners in health and safety as well as environmental management and community engagement.
We want to hear about your success stories and share them with our industry and the community through the 2019 NSW Mining HSEC Awards.
Awards will be given in four categories:

  • Health excellence
  • Safety excellence
  • Environmental excellence
  • Community excellence 
These awards are a great opportunity to promote yourself, your colleagues or your business and its achievements and help share news about the good things happening in mining.

  • Demonstrate your commitment to world leading health and safety practices and excellence in environmental management or community engagement.
  • Showcase your leadership in our industry and increase regulator, community, customer and industry awareness of your operations and achievements.
  • Reflect on your achievements and congratulate your team on its success. Join us to recognise finalists and winners at our annual HSEC Awards Dinner.
  • Finalists and winners will enjoy promotion in media, online and in NSW Minerals Council newsletters to industry stakeholders.
How to enter the NSW Mining HSEC Awards

  • Complete the online entry form at Awards Force. You will receive an email notification from us via Awards Force if your entry has been completed. 
  • Projects nominated for an award must have been implemented or achieved a significant milestone within the last 24 months. Leading practice that meets or exceeds regulatory compliance must be demonstrated.
  • Multiple entries are accepted from the same site or company, but the same submission cannot be entered into multiple categories.
  • You must provide sufficient information to soundly demonstrate that all judging criteria has been met so there can be a fair comparison in the judging process. Additional information can be included, such as media coverage, charts or images, and will be considered alongside your written responses.
  • Submit your entry no later than Friday 31 May 2019. There will be no extensions for late award entries.
Eligibility & important notes

  • The NSW Mining HSEC awards are open to members of the NSW Minerals Council.  
  • Entrants must be willing to participate in awards-related publicity organised by the NSW Minerals Council and agree to be contacted by media during the entry and awards process.
  • All entrants are requested to attend the NSW Mining HSEC Awards Dinner in the Hunter Valley 2018, where winners will be announced.
